Russell Brown, Spelt, Pop up Restaurant.

In June we hosted a pop-up food event at our other restaurant in Bampton, The Swan. We wanted to get some feedback on the food we were planning to serve here at Spelt. We offered a selection of brunch and sweet dishes for people to try.

Our pop-up food event was a hugely successful event with lots of lovely comments about the dishes.

Russell Brown, who ran the Michelin-starred restaurant Sienna in Dorset for 12-years before launching his consultancy business, Creative About Cuisine, visited us for the event and he said: “We have been fans of The Swan for several years now and having tried the Spelt pop-up recently I am sure this is going to be an exciting new addition to the town. A perfect excuse to stay at The Swan for two nights and eat in both places.”

Our food is all about sharing, so no starters and no mains either. Just a range of glorious dishes for everyone to tuck into at the same time.

Designed to appeal to all Bampton’s eclectic residents and visitors, our new restaurant has three open-plan areas each decorated slightly differently, one with a fireplace and chandelier in a reds and purples colour palette. Another is funky with retro pictures and then the middle area is clean, bright and modern.
