We’re inviting you this month (September 2020) to help support British Food Fortnight by dining with us.
We’re celebrating the event from September 19 until October 4 by promoting the suppliers from our area, and the Westcountry, that supply us with the wonderful ingredients we use for our dishes.
It is incredibly important, especially in the aftermath of COVID-19, to support food and drinks producers in Britain. We are always championing our suppliers from the area.
Guests who dine with us can ask about the provenance of the ingredients in the dishes we’re serving. We also have specials that feature the very best our area can offer.
British Food Fortnight is a celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food available in Britain. It’s also all about the health benefits of eating quality, fresh, seasonal and regionally distinct produce.
Supporting British produce
We think it is important to support British produce all year round. We source all manner of ingredients such as eggs, beef, lamb and pork from as nearby as possible.
Where able, we try to provide seasonal British fruit and vegetables for diners too.
Obviously, we can’t get British-grown lemons and items like that, but we are able to source a great deal of other items from the region.
British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual, national celebration of British food and drink.
It was established in the wake of the Foot and Mouth crisis. In response to the fact that, though there are numerous food initiatives, projects and events taking place across Britain, there was no overall flagship event to bring them to the public’s attention.
We’re dedicated to sourcing as many of our ingredients as possible locally. It’s a pleasure to give British, Westcountry and Devon producers a boost by highlighting their products during this fortnight wherever we can.
